comment Dropped wireless on Android?
@A.Donahue - How's it going? I've been a little curious about this radio thing ever since I read your question and have been thinking of looking into what my phone uses.

comment Factory reset left root intact?
@ Redh3ad - Now I know, and knowing's half the battle. You should submit this as an answer so that you can get the credit for it.

comment Factory reset left root intact?
@Sparx - I was under the impression that a factory reset brought the firmware back to stock settings (meaning no apps installed that didn't come with the phone at stock) which would mean the superuser app shouldn't have persisted as you don't get that from the Market where your account will redownload anything you had previously installed (at least on 2.2 it will). Of course the main difference between our perspectives lies within the method that the factory reset option uses to accomplish it's task.

comment Is it possible for my HTC Desire to interupt my iPod when I receive a call?
Well connecting the two devices via Bluetooth shouldn't be too much of a hassle, in theory. And there are plenty of apps like Tasker which allow you to take any specified action upon any specified condition. The trick here is going to be finding something that will essentially treat your iPod Touch as a BT headset or something similar. I'll look around a bit and see what I can find.

This is... interesting. So what you want is an app that will push some kind of audio notification to your iPod Touch via Bluetooth that will play through the connected headphones when you receive a call?

comment Looking for Android equivalent of Clonezilla / Diskimage / Ghost etc
I don't know if I'd flash any 3.0 builds onto a phone. The way I understand it 3.0 is optimized for tablets at the moment, and at best the screen on a phone will just be too small for you to effectively use Honeycomb.

comment What is the right way to backup my whole phone?
That detail about ClockworkMod is something about which I had no clue. I'm really glad I read this before I ever needed to restore a backup from nandroid!

You really need to edit your question (and comments) so that your directory paths make sense. Also, try to make your question a bit more clear.

comment How to switch keyboard layout for external keyboard
This is a much more useful answer, but as Ryan says modifying system files is risky. If you do give this method a shot please be sure to post your results here as I'd be interested to find out how it went. And make a backup!

comment Dropped wireless on Android?
@travis - Unless I'm mistaken Skyraider is a custom ROM that uses Sense UI (Sense UI was developed by HTC). Since you have a Motorola phone the only way you'd be running Sense UI is if you flashed a custom ROM, whether that would be Skyraider or another that includes Sense.

@travis - Is your Flipside running Skyraider or Sense? Could one of these things be the common factor between both of your problems?

You should look into rooting your phone. So long as you're careful and make sure you understand the whole process before you begin it really isn't that scary. I would double-check that unrooting is at least as easy as rooting for your particular device as well in case you ever need to send it in for warranty reasons, but rooting affords you a lot of additional flexibility with your device. And don't forget: step one is always make a backup!

comment How to keep the Car Home app from opening automatically on my Droid?
@Bryan Denny - I've seen your app, it looks pretty slick. If I didn't prefer to have my PowerAmp open while on the road I'd definitely be using Car Dashboard. The speed alerts thing is genius.

comment How to keep the Car Home app from opening automatically on my Droid?
@Matthew Read - I do use ClockworkMod, and that reminds me that I need to make a new backup since I just reflashed last night. I didn't realize that was how the intents worked; I keep meaning to dig into Android app development and start writing my own stuff but I can never find the time. :) Thanks for all your help!

comment How to keep the Car Home app from opening automatically on my Droid?
@Matthew Read - I think what Autostarts does is prevent the OS from announcing that it's been placed in the car dock (in my case). I'm pretty sure the Car Home app listens for the "placed in car dock" intent and runs when it that intent runs. I am rooted (have to be to load a custom ROM), so I suppose I could try to figure out which file runs the intent I'd like to suppress, back it up and then modify it, but that seems mighty dangerous. Makes me wish Cyanogen would include this as an option in Dock Settings.

@Matthew Read - Very cool, I'm going to hang on to that link but are there any other options? It seems like overkill to download an app for this.
