♦ Community moderator on Electrical Engineering.
I have three years of experience at a small start-up company which I would not suggest to everyone, but for those willing to teach themselves, it is an excellent opportunity.
I currently work in medical proton therapy as a systems engineer. Both the details of a functioning particle accelerator and the beam physics I work with keep me interested in the day to day of my job.
I am also currently pursuing a masters degree in electrical engineering.
I do not speak on behalf of my company, all views I express are my own.

Do I have to charge my phone before I use it the first time? @Edelcom, It probably only makes a minor difference to you. Yes, it is better to charge the phone in small increments. If your phone is well engineered then when you power connected and the battery charged it will not pull power from the battery. This is a feature a user cannot recognize, so they normally do not do it. The rule here is to charge your phone often and avoid deep discharge. If you are never letting it power off from lack of power you are not at risk of causing battery failure, which is the major thing people cause when they think they need to full discharge. |

Do I have to charge my phone before I use it the first time? @Arda Xi, You are also incorrect, this does not happen with Lithium batteries. I will add links to answer. I work at a job where I use lithium batteries in the thousands every day. |

Do I have to charge my phone before I use it the first time? @Arda Xi, you can discharge it until it says it is dead, but if you give it any time to continue that way you will have the self discharge take it below the safe charge. |

Do I have to charge my phone before I use it the first time? Lithium batteries are never shipped full charge, and you should never take the battery through a full charge discharge cycle for "lifetime". This is quite bad for a lithium if you take your discharge to too low a charge. |

Connect Android phone to wifly board you could use a simple FT232 chip to convert USB to serial. You would see a com port on the phone with drivers. This is very clean. |
