How is a Nexus device “provisioned” when you buy it from Google? Ryan Conrad said pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Since the device contacts Google during setup, it would be trivial for it to retrieve the desired account name. I considered having my Nexus 4 provisioned in this manner, then concluded that it was of no practical benefit because I still have to do the harder task of generating and entering a new Application-specific Password. |

Google Now and pronouncing/recognising contact names Gmail on the desktop supports this in the new contacts UI. Choose "Phonetic name" from the "Add" menu at the bottom of the contact details. |

Disable GO SMS Pro weekly nag messages AdAway isn't a bad idea; goodness knows I already use it to block tons of other things. Matt's suggestion of simply blocking GO SMS Pro from accessing the Internet at all seems to be working, though. In either case, the "cure" would most likely wind up blocking all use of the GO Chat function (not that I ever wanted it, but it should be noted for others who may read this question). |

Disable GO SMS Pro weekly nag messages Thanks, Matt. I already have DroidWall so it should be simple to give the firewall trick a try. Sounds like you've already gotten the result I want, so I'll try it for a while and come back in a week or so to accept your answer once I confirm that it works. :) |

Motorola Triumph & HyperShell in Titanium Backup Is Joel someone I can reach by emailing the general Titanium Track support address? I never seem to get an answer through that channel. |

Accidentally accepted update, how can I abort before it actually installs? Hmm, the update wound up in /cache? Tricky. If it was on the SD card, I'd say delete the downloaded ZIP. If you were rooted, I'd say the same thing. Have you poked around in the recovery on the phone to see if you can wipe /cache from there? |

Motorola Triumph & HyperShell in Titanium Backup "/system mounted as rw!" — Remount // "Processing… \n Please wait" — Titanium Backup (for a long time, until force stopped) :-/ (I'm off now to fix Play Store so it works again.) |

Walking between Wi-Fi access points causes network to be disabled it's definitely a driver thing. If your phone has the issue, then it has a bug. It so happens that my phone can't handle the network that had problems anyway, but if yours can it'll be a definite trade-off. :-/ |

Walking between Wi-Fi access points causes network to be disabled What that change does is essentially turn the Wi-Fi off whenever the screen is off, letting the phone switch back to (more power-intensive) 3G while you're not using it. Battery life on my old LG Optimus V was much shorter when I let it turn the Wi-Fi off, and Wi-Fi sleep was one of the first things I told my new Triumph NOT to do. This also doesn't happen on the unencrypted network I use now. |
