what is the download mode Some devices uses U-Boot over the generic boot, its a bootloader code found in the /boot partition, for details of boot - see this As for Download mode, for example ODIN is commonly used on Samsung devices to flash ROMs, those devices needs to be in download mode prior to flashing. |

Does the Android OS provide any overheating protection? Especially if the CPU is overclocked - you're basically asking for it!!!!!! |

Does the Android OS provide any overheating protection? The kernel does indeed take care of it - that's what explains mysterious shutdowns in certain circumstances when the level of heat reaches a threshold - it boils down to the battery driver - if that code ends up faulty - it's thermo-meltdown all the way... just saying :) |

Does the Android OS provide any overheating protection? The kernel takes care of that along with the appropriate battery driver for that chipset. All batteries do generate an amount of heat, more so when the device is overworking, common on single cpu chipsets - try playing angry birds on 600Mhz MSM7227 chipset - can have a nice fry up on the back of the device.... :D |

where can I find information about my phone by imei the blacklisting database - looks iffy to be honest - have not seen any mobile provider dishing out blacklisted/stolen imei's... three things about it - the linky does not look "reasonable" - the script looks off-the-wall name - englishaparativbazi.php and secondly, how did that get their hands on the imei's that are blacklisted in the first place... thirdly, clicking on 'privacy policy' yields a page that has the word resembling 'poo' as in sh!t... |

How do I backup data (SMS/contacts) from a device with a broken screen? @Izzy yes, very occasionally, it works... you'd be surprised how under-rated Mono is on Linux - provided there is no iffy Win32API used, you can actually run Win32 dotnet exe's under mono! :) |
