I assumed it did something else, like unjar/unzip of the apk somewhere and then bailed out with an exception and forgot to clean it up when it failed installing. If it tries again and again and again it could add up. But I have no proofs, it just feels like the main suspect :-) |

With the now 500M free memory, the only time it falls back to some 200M is when Market has been out checking for updates and failed updating (because of low memory it claims, but I doubt 500M wouldn't be enough for an 3,5M update). |
