comment E977 doesn't boot
I'm not sure of the OS on this device, my ponderance of a solution, shouldn't matter either. Once again, download and RTFM, Manuals are built for a reason, when stuff breaks. I would try emptying the "local cache" This requires a magic "digit sequence" (given in the manual) and should have a menue option to "clear cache"... works like a big FLUSH. Yea you may have to re-type an ID or PW, it is that stuff that b e g i n s t o S L O W D O W N, your device. it is a good place to START before formatting resetting to zero your device. IMHO JLH

comment What is safe mode?
You should really get / find the manual for your phone. It will have specifics to Android 2.2, (lowliest of the lows). Yes, you are close remembering those old Mac OS 7/8/9 key commands! The manipulations for the proper menu are similar. I'll restate, each phone carrier has their own version (in this case 2.2) of OS. Then there are the hardware specifics again can differ between carriers. (I'll stop now before a BetaMax/VHS discussion comes out)
