Is there any android support for bicycle sensors? Unfortunately USB host mode on my galaxy i9000 would take considerable hacking, but good to know for future in any case. people seem very happy with the USB ANT stick on galaxy s3s. |

Could a lack of a working data connection cause spinning threads to freeze up the system? I found an app called watchdog which is handy for detecting high resource usage apps. Dropsync was using a lot of time scanning folders, could be a culprit |

Could a lack of a working data connection cause spinning threads to freeze up the system? @Flow I'm asking for developers opinions to give me an idea if bad practices in app development can cause a system to get bogged down due to not having a data connection |

Could a lack of a working data connection cause spinning threads to freeze up the system? @BryanDenny Yes, I think it's highly possible that devs are not always using async tasks to do requests. Even if they did though , you think it could be possible that the async queues could build up and clog up the system with status polling? |

How can I keep a folder backed up online with continuous syncing? This appears to be the solution! Currently syncing thanks! |

How can I keep a folder backed up online with continuous syncing? The dropbox client doesn't appear to work for me unfortunately. I can browse files remotely and open them but I can't keep a whole directory of choice in sync automatically. |

What's the Android equivalent of /etc/fstab? Guess I'm a wishful maemo user then really. Yeah it's pretty far away from linux I guess. Thanks for the pointer to vold.fstab ! |

How can I keep a folder backed up online with continuous syncing? Actually I didn't know about titanium media, I've edited the question to be more specific about titanium backup. Seen as it's from the same people, I'm not too confident in the dropbox support working for me, much as I love their backup solution |

Run connectbot as root? I should also mention that I still used connectbot to log into the remote server and create the tunnel! |

Run connectbot as root? Yes you're right. I actually got this to work by running quicksshd on a high port and forwarded to that port. So I can finally log on to my phone over ssh from anywhere! Now, why did I want to do this again? :-) |

Run connectbot as root? hmm this sounds strange. Put another way, how can I run an app from the shell? I can su in the shell and then run commands as root. I want to do this: handlewithlinux.com/android-reverse-ssh |

Is there a RAW (canon) image viewer or gallery hack for android? Just for completion, at the point of writing RawDroid is basically a batch converter from raw to jpg. You can then view the jpgs in the usual way. It's a very first release however and I'm sure the app will be updated to have more functionality in future |

Gingerbread — how to wake up to 100% battery? Sounds like I've found a bug then! I am using an alternative ROM. Will report back if I find the cause |

Does dual core help transfer speeds? Ah ok thanks for the follow up. gotta say the reader on my samsung i9000 isn't great though, never gets anywhere near 30MB/s which I can get with other readers on USB 2.0. Would be interested to see if anyone does on other devices |

Standalone Chrome to phone outside browser? JumpNotes is similar to this, but not based on dropbox. It is c2dm based so it stays in sync pretty well. They also block external wifi! They are very paranoid. Just to make things better, I can only get a crappy GPRS connection despite being in central london! Love your tips though thank you very much |

Does dual core help transfer speeds? Yes I would have thought it was the spec of the card interface and that is all. In any case by your description you imply that the transfer always goes through the devices OS which is another thing I was wondering about given the review. My mobile goes into an unusable mode when plugged in so I figured the cards were unmounted and could be used directly as a card reader. |
