No, the install isn't greyed out. Does it make a difference what APK file it is?

I just wanted to give it a little time to make sure I hadn't broken anything. But if you're sure it isn't some kind of critical system file, I guess we're good. Thanks for the help!

This may have worked. Under Storage -> Misc there was a file caled 0 that was 9 GB in size. I took a chance on deleting it, and my tablet seems to be running fine. I hope it wasn't important, but I can't imagine any one file that needs to be 9GB in size.

@Chahk, Thank you for responding. I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling, but YouTube still crashes consistently. I don't know how to get a log from the crash.

The update I was referring to was not the app update, but updating Android.

comment Is it possible to remove the battery percentage on my Samsung S5?
The exact Android version is 4.4.2, as stated. There is no other software version information that I can see. I checked for updates, but none were available.

Thanks for this response. There is no percentage option in either of these locations.

I've added screenshots to the question. Also, I've already stated the Android version is 4.4.2. I'm not sure what other software version you might be referring to.

Thanks for the update. However, I swear my Samsung does not have the "Show battery percentage" checkbox anywhere in the battery settings. It looks exactly like your second image with the graph and the list of applications, but no checkbox for battery percentage.
