Using a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SC-04) in Japan, with Docomo as my service provider. Currently running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, unrooted.

Also have a Galaxy Tab 10.1, 16GB, WiFi only (GT-P7510). Currently running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, rooted.

Thank you for this response. However, in Android 4.4.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S5, there is no checkbox in the location you've described.

comment Can I use wifi or Bluetooth to get the same kind of connection to my phone that I can with USB?
Tasker might be a viable option, but I'm actually also unclear on how I can get full file access over Wifi. My phone connects to the Wifi, but it doesn't appear as any kind of available drive on the LAN.

Added clarification that I'm not just after file transfers.

This sounds like a viable option for file transfer alone, but I realize that my question was not clear enough. I'd like to have the drives show up the same way they do as when connected by USB, so that I can do other things like syncing my music collection.

comment Is it possible to transfer one app from my old phone to my new if my phone is not rooted?
Additional note: On my old phone, I had Titanium Backup routinely send backups to my Dropbox account. The apks are individually compressed into gzip format with the name of the app in the name of the compressed file. I viewed it on my desktop to extract it (Maybe there's a decompress app for the phone). Then, by extracting it into my Dropbox folder, I was able to download and install it from within my Dropbox app on my new phone. In other words, the process was actually very easy.

comment How do I get the maximum video compatibility on my Android device?
Adding MX Player and Moboplayer seems to have helped. MX Player made me download an additional app from Google Play with extra codecs.
