Thank you for responding. Unfortunately, under settings, I don't have a Device, Personalization, or Status bar icons screens anywhere that I can see.

@AdiInbar, I don't have a rooted or custom ROM that I know of, but it is possible that my carrier (DoCoMo) modified it in some way.

Thank you for this response, but your description is not clear. What do you mean by "then the display at the top and then display at the bottom once more"?

@AdiInbar, on my device, under the Display section, the bottommost item is Increase touch sensitivity. There is no check box for showing the percentage. I have looked in every location suggested in every answer and comment, and the option does not exist on my phone in any of the locations suggested so far.

No, the install isn't greyed out. Does it make a difference what APK file it is?

I just wanted to give it a little time to make sure I hadn't broken anything. But if you're sure it isn't some kind of critical system file, I guess we're good. Thanks for the help!

This may have worked. Under Storage -> Misc there was a file caled 0 that was 9 GB in size. I took a chance on deleting it, and my tablet seems to be running fine. I hope it wasn't important, but I can't imagine any one file that needs to be 9GB in size.
