I was able to browse through my photos but after selecting the photo the error popped up. I was able to resolve it by installing a third-party photo editor.

I did contact the developer a few weeks ago, but unfortunately I did not hear back from them. If there's no other way to find out if the developer implemented premium features as a non-consumable, then I guess there's no way for me to find out beforehand.
