A guy with a enormous passion for software. I've programmed in many languages, from assembler to SQL, including C/C++ and COBOL. I worked on various platforms, like Windows (Win32 API, MFC, WinForms and WPF), Linux (GNU libs) and even some mainframe (CICS and MVS -- by which I mean Roscoe and TSO, Changeman, etc.).

Right now I'm working as a software architect for Avanade. My specialties are:

* UX!
* Methodologies (RUP)
* C++
* C# and .Net Framework
* Distributed Systems Design & Implementation

Renato, Sony just upgraded the firmware to 15.3.A.0.26, and the problem seems solved! Can you test it at your end?

I will check the build number -- it's actually my girlfriends' phone. Do you think this is something specific to Brazilian versions? The issue is very apparent, I can't believe it passed QA testing. This weekend we where at a store and tested a phone on display and got the same behavior.

@t0mm13b oh, it seems one can't read the logs unless it's a root in jellybean... I won't root the phone so it doesn't void the warranty, is there a way around it?

comment Are Samsung firmware updates regional?
@MatthewRead, no, what I mean is a way is to get updates from some other region. Is that possible? Oh, and thanks for your answers.

Link was broken and didn't point to the correct (text) address -- now it's corrected.

comment Are Samsung firmware updates regional?
@MatthewRead, one last question: is it possible to break the "regional lock" on my Samsung Galaxy S2? Or all I can do is manually flash the latest firmware?

comment Are Samsung firmware updates regional?
Thanks again. So this means that if for some reason I find out that someone has a more recent update in the same region as mine, I can expect or at least have some hope that Kies will give me the update?

comment How can I determine the latest released firmware for my Samsung device?
Thanks! It's too bad Samsung doesn't have that kind of communication with its users. I hope that, as this market matures, the manufacturers get more smart about this kind of thing.
