I feel the need to put _something_ into this big grey box.

comment How can I enlarge the fonts on Wikipedia in Chrome?
I've given up on the Wikipedia app (I can't remember why); and I've noticed that (contrary to one of my previous comments), asking for the "Desktop version" of the app does help (this is on Android 4.4.2, now; perhaps the browser behaves differently). I still know of no way to always make Wikipedia pages expand when I double-tap; but at least I can request the desktop version for any individual page, and then double-tap.

@AlexDumitru I'd heard that, but I assume that the "Force Enable Zoom" checkbox is meant to override that.

@ott: that's obviously a bug; please report it to Google.

comment Does Nexus 7 2013 have 3G support?
I'm just guessing, but I'd be astonished if it didn't support 3g, and 2g, and Edge. I've never heard of a phone that didn't support the older, slower protocols.

Turns out the Wikipedia app works well enough.I still don't know why Chrome works the way it does, but the standalone app is good enough.

Hi Al, thanks for checking! Yes, it's the mobile version of the site (oddly, asking for the desktop version doesn't change that). I have indeed tried the Wikipedia app; I can't at the moment remember why I no longer use it; I'll give it another look.

comment Is there any way to check the backup that android does?
This is really off-topic, but: for android developers who'd like to back up more data than what Google's backup service provides, ericsink.com/entries/announcing_zumero.html looks interesting. I've never used it; I'm just passing the link along.

The people I'm talking to often complain about my voice when I'm using the speakerphone.
