comment Transfer large files beween Android device and an iPad mini
Using a computer as an intermediate repository is the best and fastest way. Transferring the files from Android is straightforward - connect and mount as a drive - copy contents to computer. Transferring the files from computer to iPad has to be done through iTunes as a sync process.

I am not sure. But one justification from developer's point of view is that what is correct today is not correct tomorrow. This especially happens in the technology. As you could have read the SDK documentation, before Google decides supporting multiple users, the methods that app developer used might be appropriate and breaks only when Google did this change.

comment Getting rid of my SD card
Other than pictures and music, if the user had installed many apps (which might have been moved to SD card) then, it would make sense to use Titanium Backup to back up the apps and its data.

I have LG P500 with 600Mhz and 512MB RAM with internal 170MB. I can run JB shedding some unnecessary components. First, you have to find a JB ROM developer who had created one for you device. You can search Google and if you are lucky you will find some noble soul prepared an image for your device. :)

It is quite difficult to to help through comments :) the steps for backup is to first root, then install ClockworkMod or TWRP recovery and perform a Nandroid backup. Take a look at the XDA page for rooting A7 and possibly it should be same for your A5. Once rooted install ROMManager from play store. If ROMManager could not find a recovery for your device, you can use "TWRP 90% ENGLISH" as listed in the XDA page and install it through ROMManager.

There is always a small risk of making the device unusable - at least until you know how to bring it back. So, back up and be prepared for without phone and data for a while. You can make nandroid backup of your current ROM and preserve it. In case of something unpleasant, you can always restore the device to its stock ROM as you got it from shop.

If you have TWRP recovery for your device, try replacing CWM with it. It supports ext4.

Ok, if you would like to learn things, I would suggest you to learn and do unlock the boot loader, flash a factory image to restore. On the other hand if you don't want all these fuss, better return it.

To me, it sounds like flat battery. Charge the device as it is for couple of hours with its original charger and cable and try powering on with a very long press on that power button.
