comment android.process.acore has stopped
I have this problem when restoring the backup from 6.0.1 build MMB29K to 6.0.1 build MOB30D. After failing once, I reset and during next restore, I was careful enough to avoid any system app. But still the process crashed.:(

comment Unable to boot my Nexus 5 into recovery mode
1. If you are referring to "I was having Marshmallow stock ROM rooted with TWRP installed" I flashed TWRP first and installed root. 2. I rebooted straight into recovery.

comment Nokia here map data for Android - download on pc and move to phone
@gyan, I could see you accepted the answer as a solution. Did you try copying the folders yourself or used any app? Explaining that as an update will help other users in future.

comment How can I know whether the TWRP has been installed in “read only” mode?
:-z quite confusing. I am pretty sure I downloaded the factory image of version 6.0.1 and even used stock kernel to root.

comment How can I know whether the TWRP has been installed in “read only” mode?
Thanks @BoLawson for the trick. I tried to copy the .twrps file to /system and it was successful. Probably my memory should be wrong. BTW, what part of the .twrps file says I have LRX22G - just curious to know.

comment Is it possible to enable 4G/LTE band 40 in Nexus 5 D820?
Sure I agree with you to avoid rotten links issue. However this means just reproducing the text that is explained in the XDA link. Still that does not going to completely help because that XDA page has few attachments without which this will not work.

Consider downloading the factory image and flash manually by connecting through a PC.

comment Nexus 5 full disk encryption stuck 12 hours in?
I am sorry, I haven't tried enabling encryption. At any rate the 12 hours wait seems to be long. But as I said, what is the phone (beyond the stock image contents) determine how long it will take.

comment Nexus 5 full disk encryption stuck 12 hours in?
My suggestion is to plug the charger to the phone and wait with fingers crossed. At the worst case you may have to wipe off the phone and flash fresh factory image - there by loosing the data. The best way to do encryption is to have as low data as possible and then add your content slowly.

It doesn't seem so in my nephew's case twice. Moreover , if the sim is blocked, all network operations, including call, SMS, Internet will not work.

comment Boot loop after flashing android 6.0 marshmallow on nexus 5 follow up
Thanks @derobert I am aware. I just want to keep that user informed that having a non-English name makes things difficult (just a suggestion to consider). I guess the site allows only one @. And I found it super difficult when I had copy and paste using a mobile keyboard.

See this Link‌, where it is explained why Nexus9 differs. By the way how could we address you, when we can't type your name?

comment how to have two applications play sound simultaneously?
There are many audio streams available in Android. As said in the dev doc audio streams are available for alarms, DTMF tones, music, notification, ring, system sound and voice call. If apps use different streams to play different sound then this possible and that is what most app exploit to support this feature.

comment How can I find the name of the Kernel and its version that is running in my phone?
My goodness - I feel kind of dump to miss the About phone page. In Marshmallow, it does show the kernel as it did in terminal emulator. +1

Cool. In terminal emulator running in Marshmallow, the command option -all did not work. It seems it is uname -a and that worked. Thanks. +1.
