An Android, iOS and C# developer by day and a Linux enthusiast by night. I also enjoy web development (mostly Python), video games, chess, soccer, and voiding warranties.

I currently own a Nexus 5, a Nexus 10, and a Nook HD. I generally run a slightly self-modified version of CyanogenMod on my Nexus devices.

comment Bypass account screen when updating defective apps
If you want to use Google Play to update the apps, you have to sign in to a Google account. There's no way around that. Depending on the apps you're attempting to update, you could potentially get them from elsewhere.

comment 4G mobile data being used even when mobile data setting is off?
To be honest, it sounds like tech support simply had no idea what they were talking about, and this is an issue on your carrier's end. Given that, I don't know that there's really anything we could tell you that would be helpful. In my experience, data off == data off, and Android seems to think the same thing since you've noted that the phone does not show any data usage itself.

comment Can 32-bit apps compatible with a 64-bit Android OS?
That answer does not say that Android is 64-bit. It says that you need a 64-bit operating system to build Android.

comment Hangouts SMS: Keep same conversation when contact gets a new phone number
Without merging the contact info, I don't think this is doable. Hangouts doesn't have the ability to merge conversations in an ad-hoc manner or anything like that, it just organizes them by contact.
