An Android, iOS and C# developer by day and a Linux enthusiast by night. I also enjoy web development (mostly Python), video games, chess, soccer, and voiding warranties.

I currently own a Nexus 5, a Nexus 10, and a Nook HD. I generally run a slightly self-modified version of CyanogenMod on my Nexus devices.

This doesn't seem like it's connected to Android, particularly since you sound like you're potentially looking to write a cron job on a server to do it for you. Perhaps you could edit your question to clarify if this indeed an Android-related issue you're facing.

comment No previous song button in Lollipop?
@Derek: I haven't seen that myself. The keypad only appears if I swipe up. I haven't tried when the music controls were the only notification, though, because I always have Tasker and BitTorrent Sync running (as in my screenshots above). Sounds like a possible bug to me as well.

We're going to need more specifics to help you. How are you trying to install them? Are you getting an error message, and if so, what does it say? Please edit your question and provide us with as much context as possible. We're complete strangers to your situation: we need as much information as you can give us.

It could be that your battery or some other piece of hardware has died, unfortunately. Have you tried different chargers or cables just to rule that out? It sounds like it would likely not help, but may be worth doing if you can.

@MikeM: Generally we just try not to migrate questions that need work, because that creates a situation where the question could end up getting closed on the other site. An alternative would be for the OP to edit this question with some specifics, and then have it migrated. Had that happened before I saw this then I would have migrated it, but at this point it'll be faster for the OP to just repost (since editing this one will mean it has to wait here until it gets migrated by a mod/other users; reposting can be done at their convenience).

I would recommend simply posting a new, more detailed question on Stack Overflow, if you decide to go that route. As noted, they're almost certainly going to need to see some specifics (like your code) in order to give you adequate help. Specific error messages would likely be useful as well.

comment Busybox Commands in Android Application
It sounds like you're writing an app, but...this is pretty vague. If you are looking for development help, then you'll want to look at resources outside this site. Android Enthusiasts is for questions related to using Android, not developing for it. If that's not your intent here, then please edit your question to provide some additional clarity and context. One sentence is rarely enough to explain your situation so that someone on the outside can help you.
