An Android, iOS and C# developer by day and a Linux enthusiast by night. I also enjoy web development (mostly Python), video games, chess, soccer, and voiding warranties.

I currently own a Nexus 5, a Nexus 10, and a Nook HD. I generally run a slightly self-modified version of CyanogenMod on my Nexus devices.

comment Is there really no spell check on the built-in keyboard?
When you say "built-in keyboard" do you mean the physical one as opposed to the soft (on-screen) keyboard?

comment What are the /firmware and /efs partitions on Samsung devices
CDMA phones use ESNs instead. The concept is pretty much equivalent, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if the /efs partition will have your ESN on a CDMA device.

comment Why can't the su binary simply be copied (techical response please)
@user974896: Well there's nowhere else for a non-system user to put it that it can be executed, and Android doesn't even have passwd or shadow files anyway. You quite literally need root to put su in an executable location, which is why rooting methods either involve a privilege escalation exploit or getting into a custom recovery (where all bets are basically off).

This is already covered in the previous answer (it is the first sentence, in fact). Please try not to duplicate content unnecessarily.

comment How do I sideload Google Wallet onto my Verizon Galaxy Nexus?
@AlEverett: There's only something like 3 places around me that take it (none of which I frequently go to) so I get the feeling you wouldn't be missing much. The deals/coupons are usually pretty obscure places, too.
