2019 Moderator Election

On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Every election has three phases:

  1. Nomination
  2. Primary
  3. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

I'm Andrew T. and I joined this site since the end of 2013. I took a break from participating on this site and Stack Exchange as a whole due to some private matters, but now I'm able to participate back on SE normally.

  • I was active in editing/salvaging posts (1500+ posts), and flagging problematic posts (2500+ flags).
  • While my review stats aren't that spectacular, I tended to monitor the "active" questions list instead, thus usually taking actions on posts outside from review queues.
  • I'm active in following many meta sites to learn how each community handles some obstacles, including Meta Stack Exchange where the general policies are usually discussed.
  • I have full privileges (excluding mod privileges) on Anime.SE and familiar with most of the moderation tools. I'm also open to constructive feedback.

I'm living in UTC+7 time zone, and while I haven't had any diamond moderator experience, I'm ready to learn the ropes and serve the community as best as I can.

My answers to the questionnaires.

Greetings Android Enthusiasts!

I'm Xavier, before Android I was an extreme fan of Symbian OS , but now have excessive interest in anything to do with Android. (I am clinical pharmacist intern, but do enjoy a lot to do with tech and working on various projects related to Android, and occasionally do programming. I live deep in the bottom of Africa—GMT +2)

I have been on site for a fairly good amount of time (≈ 2 years) to learn the way this community functions and since then I have tried to contribute my best to the community through reviewing posts (flagging posts, editing low quality content, voting etc).

I am committed to maintaining this community in a good shape, through promoting quality content, improving communication with new members (esp the "be nice" policy), and awarding credit wherever necessary. I am patient, believe in solving differences amicably.

Although I haven't had access to "moderator tools" I don't plan to misuse them but wish to maintain the site by using them wisely to the best of my ability. My dream is to see diverse content with "experts" in each field contributing so that we have less off-topic content.

This election is complete.
