Jul 14, 2016 at 23:43 comment added mrlanrat The SIM card method stopped working for me last week. Tethering starts, and then after a few seconds turns back off once the SIM is done registering. Does anyone have any other ways to do this un-rooted?

Mar 17, 2016 at 20:33 comment added Jared Does this still work for you @JohnZeller? I just tried it and it doesn't work (I turned off airplane mode and clicked the tethering option within 2 seconds).
Jan 23, 2016 at 19:34 comment added John Zeller It's unnecessary to open the SIM card tray. You can make the same thing work by enabling AirPlane mode, then disabling it, and quickly moving to turn on the hotspot. I just did this and am now online :)
