Just so you know how to Nandroid your phone, flash a rom, play around with it, and revert back to what you had before.

If you want a backup image of your phone, you'll need to flash a recovery such as Clockwork and run a Nandroid backup. Download Rom Manager from the Market, it will let you flash Clockwork and run the backup inside of the app. Again, you're going to need to root your phone first. See my post about rooting here: android.stackexchange.com/questions/1184/how-do-i-root-my-phone

Is there a way I can take a backup of the entire image so that I can flash it back once I am done experimenting with a new build?
