bootloader in a CustomROM Do custom ROMs like CyanogenmodCyanogenMod modify your bootloader?

Does a custom romROM like CyanogenmodCyanogenMod come with their own bootloader or does it just overwritesoverwrite the /boot/boot kernel and the /system /system?!

and Does the bootloader take responsibility to lock your SimSIM card on a carrier  ?!

basically i'mBasically, I'm interested in SIM unlocking my Huawei U8180, and would like to know if CyanogenMod will unlock the device.
