Changing settings values in an android romAndroid ROM

I have just started to cook my own androidAndroid custom romsROMs, and iI am wondering how iI can change the settings values in the about"About" screen in the default settingsSettings app. 

I have taken cyanogenmodCyanogenmod 7.2 and iI am modding it. So how can iI change the mod version, for example, from cyanogenmod"cyanogenmod 7.2.0 p990p990" to, for example mymod, "mymod 7.2.0 p990p990"? Please help and thanks so much in advance!
