Jul 25, 2015 at 21:04 | comment | added | Lotif | I tried all the answers here (add a card, make a purchase, change settings on google wallet) and nothing worked for me. The only thing that worked was going to the android device manager (google.com/android/devicemanager) on my desktop and locating my device. After that I could go in the play store and download content from the country I am in. (I appreciate if someone can add this as an official answer, I don't have enough reputation for it)

Apr 3, 2013 at 9:20 | comment | added | bobbyalex | I contacted Google support on this: they asked me to add a payment method valid in the new country. Tried; didnt work. They asked me to do a hard reset of the phone: tried; didnt work. Sigh!

Mar 26, 2013 at 11:13 | comment | added | Narayanan | As per this web site, it seems earlier restriction was based on SIM and now it is based on IP address. But still not clear about your case.
Mar 26, 2013 at 8:57 | comment | added | bobbyalex | @Narayanan: It doesnt do that for me. Still shows the old currency.
Mar 26, 2013 at 8:53 | comment | added | Narayanan | I am not sure, but this is what I observed. I had observed that Google Play shows currencies and contents based on the GSM/Wifi carrier info. I say this so as I observed when moving to UK and back to India.
