Dear all, Solved for me ;) . Even I had problemproblems with gpsGPS with my new htc desireHTC Desire (froyoFroyo out of the box). I had downloaded "gps status"the "GPS Status" and "gps test" apps, those"GPS Test" apps were showingwhich showed only two satellites but were not locking them. Even google map dinGoogle Maps didn't get a GPS lock the gps :(. I went outside of my room and tried but no luck. I switched off dthe cell, removed the battery,sd SD card ,simand SIM and then put them back and restarted but still no luck :(.

Then iI installed GPS ESSENTIALSGPS Essentials from android marketthe Android Market. launched I launched the application and changed the following settings Gps update interval -> 10 seconds Tracking update interval -> 10 seconds after:

  • Gps update interval -> 10 seconds
  • Tracking update interval -> 10 seconds

After this I tapped on "satellites" on the main screen.(outside my room)

I couldn't believe my eyes while standing outside. itIt detected 8 satellites in a few seconds and even it was able to lock to 7 of them. After that everything started working including "gps status" "gps test" google maps"GPS Status", even"GPS Test" and Google Maps (even inside my room. :) :) hope this will help others.
