Disclaimer: I don't own an android mobile, but would definitely get one if the below were possible.

On my mac, I can use software like CamTwist and SoundSiphon to create 'fake' webcam and microphone inputs.

CamTwist lets me pipe custom content (such as images or video) to that webcamera input, and SoundSiphon makes it easy to have system audio interpreted as microphone input.

Q. Is it possible to achieve something similar to the above, but on any Android handheld?

E.g. I'd like to be able to use a native Android app (such as Skype or Periscope) and pipe custom video to it (rather than using the in-built camera), whilst simultaneously broadcasting a custom audio file (rather than the in-built microphone)

Hi. Could you provide some instructions for using this app? As OP mentioned in the question, they would like the solution such that an app that needs access to Camera can be piped the video. Are you able to pipe this app to Skype or some other live camera feed app?

  • @EndAntisemiticHate: I can't add that as a comment, as I need 50 reputation for this.

  • @Firelord: I can't, as I don't know this app - I just know the description in play store. Just trying to gain reputation here to be able to answer another question that I really can help but is blocked because of not having reputation. But it seems as it is too difficult to get enough reputation.
