I'd like to use WhatsApp on my web browser but I can't scan the QR code. Opening the scanner on the QR code brings the error "Cannot start camera" Is there any workaround to scanning the WhatsApp web QR code without using WhatsApp's inbuilt camera scanner?

Does the camera only says this, or the Whatsapp itself has the issue of unable to use Camera somehow? May be you could post a screenshot of the error in Whatsapp. Also, have you restarted the phone? // Did you do something (root, app install, or similar) prior to the starting of the issue? – Firelord Jun 29 '15 at 16:56

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it's about using a webapp, not an Android app. – Dan Hulme Mar 23 '16 at 22:50

@DanHulme No, it's about the Android app! In order to use Whatsapp Web, OP had to scan a QR-code using their Android phone. This is the step OP had a problem with. Thus, OP had a problem with the android app (probably their phone, actually.) Does this mean it should be re-opened? – Revetahw May 16 '16 at 11:33
  • @Fiksdal There's still not enough information to help the OP, so they need to come back and add more information (answering Firelord's comments, and telling us what phone and Android version) before the question can be reopened. – Dan Hulme May 16 '16 at 15:29
  • @DanHulme OK. Let's see if OP does that. – Revetahw May 16 '16 at 15:31
