I'm unable to pick incoming calls, nearly 8 out of 10 times on my device. The calling party thinks that I am trying to avoid them.

  • I've edited your question and removed that line about "nuisance" because it's not useful to understand the question or answer it (IMO). Also, I see 5.0-lollipop tag, so since when have you been facing this problem (some user report such things after an OTA update to 5.0.x)? What do you mean unable to pick calls? Does the call disconnects, or you can't hear the other person, or something else? Please detail as much as you can while not deviating from the topic. – Firelord Jul 12 '15 at 17:34
  • Thanks for editing. The incoming calls disconnect when I swipe the screen to receive it. – Anand G. Sharma Jul 12 '15 at 17:50

Try booting into "SAFE MODE" and see if the problem persists (long press the power off option and select 'OK' in the pop up to boot into safe mode). If you are able to Accept/Reject calls (while in Safe Mode) then the problem might be due to a third party application installed on your phone, probably a screen filter app/ third party launcher. Reboot the phone to boot into normal mode and try uninstalling any application you suspect and see if your problem is solved.

If the above method doesn't work then it might be a bug which will probably be rectified by Google soon in the next update.

Else as a last resort you can "Factory Reset" your phone and hope that the problem is solved.

  • I have done 'Factory Reset' twice to get rid of incoming call getting disconnected. – Anand G. Sharma Jul 12 '15 at 17:51
  • then this is a software issue, you need to wait for the next update for the bug fix till then you can use some third party app like Full Screen Caller ID. – Rajat Priyam Sahay Jul 12 '15 at 18:00

Yeah this happens to me also many times that answer button that appears as a notification does not work, I just close the notification bar and pick the call normally. If it's annoying then in settings enable any key answer
