I have a HTC Desire 510. The internal storage space is 4 GB. So, like everyone else, I purchased a 64 GB SD card. Now, I've set all my settings to SD card.

My problem is that apps will not download to SD card. I've tried those apps that claim to move your apps to the card but it never works.

Someone suggested that I should root my phone. I have no clue where to even start.

  • Welcome to the Android Enthusiasts! Some more details needed here: which Android version is running on the device? Is the device rooted? Also note that not all apps can be moved to SD, and not all devices (or rather their specific ROMs) permit it at all. Also see our app2sd tag-wiki for details. – Izzy Sep 6 '15 at 18:07
  • It's version 4 I think? No, it's not. Well I guess my question is it even possible to download apps from Google play onto the sd card? – Marie Sep 6 '15 at 20:11
  • As I wrote: depends on what your device supports. Download from Play are always going to internal storage, where the app is installed is a different thing. – Izzy Sep 6 '15 at 20:13
