My phone LG Volt LS740 asked me to update, so I did. And before it continued it said it will turn off and then start the new update. I agreed. Now my phone keeps powering off and on like crazy and won't stop until the battery is out. It keeps restarting for no reason. I tried hard reset and soft reset, but nothing works.

Welcome to Android Enthusiasts! If you could edit your question and add the following information, that would help us give a suggestion as to what to do next: what model of phone you have, whether you were rooted and what Android version you were upgrading from and to. – user43185 Sep 19 '15 at 22:47

Following this thread should enable you to flash the stock ROM, although you'll lose all the data stored on the phone.

A quick summary:

  1. Download files from post 11 on this thread
  2. Install LG Flash Tool and LG Mobile Drivers
  3. Download megalock.dll and drop it into C:\LG\LGFlashTool
  4. Launch LG Flash Tool and select 'manually select DLL'
  5. Select the .dll and .tot files included
  6. Click 'Board DL' then click OK
  7. Turn the phone all the way off, then plug a USB cable into the phone only
  8. Plug the USB cable into the computer and immediately hold volume up
  9. Go to Device Manager on the computer and under COM ports select the LG device and double-click it
  10. Click Port Settings, click advanced, click COM port and set port to 41
  11. In LG Flash Tool click the arrow in the top-left to run an MD5 check
  12. Once it finishes, hold power until black screen then hold volume up
  13. If a menu appears on the phone when booting up, hold power, click normal boot and OK

  • Thank you. I'll give it a try and if it still doesn't work than I'll get a new phone. Thank you for helping me. – Michael Reyes Sep 20 '15 at 22:47
