Specifically I'm looking for a solution that makes my life easier. The current lock screen is like I have to swipe up and then enter the 4 digits and then press the tick button which is close to emergency call button. This is all after pressing the physical power button. Ideally it could be power button then 4 digits. FWIW, I have a Nexus 5.

  • Yes, this is possible. Settings->Security – Άνδρας Jun 23 '16 at 19:29
  • What do you want to change it to? Turning off the PIN is one solution, but that leaves your device insecure - what's the goal here? – Michael Kohne Jun 23 '16 at 19:48
  • Sounds like you're talking about this, at least in part: Bypass “Swipe up to unlock” on Android Lollipop lock screen – eldarerathis Jun 23 '16 at 20:05
  • If you still want to have the PIN screen lock, but you want to skip pressing the tick button, you could install CyanogenMod custom ROM v.12.1-20150901 (that's exactly what I have in my phone). Sadly, the swipe up is still required. – cavpollo Jun 23 '16 at 20:34
  • @michael I can't disable the pin since I have my work email setup on the phone. I looking for a simpler pin screen. – Mohammad Moghimi Jun 23 '16 at 23:21
