My tablet has been asking me to sign into all WiFi networks I connect to. The strange part is, upon clicking on this notification, it sends me to the Android "Sign into WiFi network" page for a couple seconds then immediately sends me back to whatever page I was on beforehand. But, this issue really isn't an "issue". It doesn't affect my WiFi connection or speed. It's just an annoying notification I get all the time now. Also my WiFi connection "indicator" (icon next to the battery icon at the top right of the screen) has the exclamation point on it like I'm having an issue. That also goes away upon clicking on the notification. Yes, I know that this isn't that bad or cause any ailments to my device but as I said before it is a real annoyance that I would like to get rid of. It would be great if you could help me with this. Thank you!

  • It's a known bug in Android L. Can you update your system? – Gene Sep 17 '16 at 15:00
  • By Android L I'm assuming you mean Lollipop? And in that case, no my current version is up to date. But this problem did just start recently so it's not like I've been dealing with it for a while... – Protomon Sep 18 '16 at 2:41
  • So... Have you paid your internet bill? It usually happens when there's some sort of redirection instead of going straight to a website. ISP bill notifications are an example (e.g. you get redirected to the ISP's website instead of the site you want to go to) – Gene Sep 18 '16 at 4:31
  • Worst case scenario is that your phone is infected with something that redirects you to a malicious site, or someone on your network is infected with malware and is doing a DNS poisoning attack. – Gene Sep 18 '16 at 4:33
