I have had my Samsung Tab for over a year and my mom put a password on it and she forgot what the password was. Is there anyway I can access it without losing any of my games or files, or will I have to do the Hard Reset?

  • Welcome to Android Enthusiasts! As this is a frequently asked question here, we've set up some "first aid" in our locked-out tag-wiki. May I suggest you to start with that? Afterwards, please come back here and either answer your own question (when solved) or edit your question to include what you've already tried and where you're stuck. Good luck! – Izzy May 10 '17 at 12:38

Assuming you had a Samsung account setup correctly (and activated?), one may go to the website 'findmymobile.samsung.com' on a seperate device. Once there, they should log in. "On the next screen, click Find, then More, then Unlock My Device." This will allow one to change the authentication.

  • Welcome to Android Enthusiasts! Whilst the link from ifixit may theoretically answer the question, it would be preferable to include the essential parts of the answer here, and provide the link for reference. – beeshyams Dec 4 '18 at 12:06
