I've been having this issue for about a year, but I can't find a solution, everywhere I look, there is no answer. I have quite an old phone, so I don't have many things that most people do. So, I'd like to ask why my gallery isn't saving my files, but my My Files is. I can't exchange them over from My Files to gallery so how do I swap them over?

So if anyone can answer how I get my images/videos to the gallery, it would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I have an old Samsung Galaxy but not many people have that now. :(

    And what do you mean by the Gallery not saving pictures? The gallery isn't supposed to save pictures but to show them. How did you store those pictures? If you simply copied them, try rebooting the device and see if they show up – then it's usually the media-scanner which didn't pick them up in time. – Izzy♦ Aug 7 '17 at 16:52

This isn't the perfect answer I couldn't comment so that's why writing it in answer. First of all tell that do you have SD Card in your phone, if so then first try removing your SD Card and check again. If that fixes your issue then install back our SD Card to phone and then navigate to File explorer, from there Goto SD Card then click on settings and then un-hide the hidden files and delete them. This happened to me once and the trick worked. Hope it helps you also
