I've copied a folder of music from my PC to my phone. Is there a way I can add a custom image to the music app?

Right now it looks like this:

Sounds of Rebellion is the name of the folder the music is contained in. Is there a way I can change the greyed out music icon to a custom image?

  • Not Android specific. But have you tried to simply place a folder.jpg (or, if that doesn't work, cover.jpg) into that directory? – Izzy Oct 20 '17 at 9:36

I'll try that when I have a chance and get back to you. – Pancake_Senpai Oct 20 '17 at 10:18
  • Use an ID3 editing tool and embed the cover into the music files themselves, so it works on all players. – Andy Yan Oct 20 '17 at 14:44
  • I used Album Art Grabber, and found to my surprise that it lets you associate any image on your phone with any of your 'albums'. So I picked a picture I liked, deleted music app data and then when I opened up the music app again Sounds of Rebellion had the art I had chosen. – Pancake_Senpai Oct 21 '17 at 11:43
