I have a Redmi note 4G device which is not able to boot fully, or in other words stuck at the mi logo. I tried the following methods:

  • "Wipe and reset" options from the recovery console.
  • Boot to fastboot mode and connect it to a PC. Then ran a script from a fastboot image: sudo ./flash_all.sh. Got the following error:

```
product: MSM8226
target reported max download size of 838860800 bytes
sending 'tz' (353 KB)...
OKAY [  0.014s]
writing 'tz'...
FAILED (remote: flash write failure)
finished. total time: 10.085s
target reported max download size of 838860800 bytes
sending 'sdi' (11 KB)...
OKAY [  0.004s]
writing 'sdi'...
FAILED (remote: flash write failure)
finished. total time: 10.070s
target reported max download size of 838860800 bytes
sending 'sbl1' (246 KB)...
OKAY [  0.011s]
writing 'sbl1'...
FAILED (remote: flash write failure)
```

  • Used the MiFlash Tool from Windows to flash the storage (after booting to fastboot mode). Got write error.

  • Used the Mi PC suite to flash the storage (after booting to fastboot mode). Got unable to flash.

Still, stuck at the boot logo. What could be the reason behind this issue. I suspect the filesystem may have some errors which prevents the full boot. If it was a PC, I would run a fsck on the storage device after booting into another live system but here I have no other options left.

    Possible cause: a damaged eMMC chip. How does the loop occur ? – esQmo_ Jan 8 '18 at 12:27
  • Just stuck at the boot logo. – Vijay47 Jan 8 '18 at 12:29
  • How did it happen? I don't think such serious issue occurred spontaneously? – esQmo_ Jan 8 '18 at 12:31

    Please copy-paste the shell commands as text instead of a screenshot. Screenshots aren't accessible to blind visitors, and they're not searchable, so it's harder for other people to find your question. – Dan Hulme Jan 8 '18 at 13:18
