Even when the phone is on silent mode, some apps show audible video ads.

How can I mute the ads audio?

  • Well, I've never seen this happening... If I put my phone in DND (Do not Disturb), only alarms will have sound... How are you putting it to silent mode? Feb 19 '18 at 12:26
  • Yes, I set it to the (Do not Disturb) mode. Maybe the ad audio plays on media channel Feb 19 '18 at 12:30
  • @Abdulrahman yes you definitely have to put media on silent, putting ringtone on silent won't help in this case

Thanks to @aBochur's comment

It turned out that video ads use the media channel
I have muted the phone media and the ad audio was muted as well.

I'm glad it worked! In the future, if your answer came from a comment, you can reply to that commenter, and ask them to post as an answer.

  • Is there an app that does it automatically, and restores volume later? Jul 18 '19 at 9:03
  • @androiddeveloper I don't think so. Maybe you can develop one Jul 18 '19 at 9:48
  • I know I can, but it's a lot of work... Jul 18 '19 at 14:16

Get "Sound Assistant" or other apps that can manage sound settings "per app" (as it's for Samsung and I'm not sure it will be compatible with other brands).

Find Google Play Movies or whatever it's named in your language. Mute this app.
