I had my phone which was rooted. Now I have installed Oreo official international version. If I check eiither with SuperSu or by terminal I get that the device is not rooted. However, if I try to set up Samsung pass or the bank app I get error of rooted device. I have formatted several times now, uninstalled and re-installed the apps and still same issue. Could it be that is the international version creating the problem? So I should download the Irish version.. which is not out for Oreo.. :( or do u have any solution?

Please note device status is showing official, and Android as Enforcing.

Thank you!

  • What is your Knox Warranty Void status in the bootloader or via KNOX Status Samsung app in the Play Store? If it is not 0, 0x0, or 0x000 or the equivalent, then that is the most likely reason, not root or any remnants of it. – acejavelin Jun 20 '18 at 3:30
  • Thank you. I have checked and it is 0x1. Any possible solution? Thanks again – Rosario S Jun 21 '18 at 10:14
  • No, Knox is hardware, a physical "fuse"... Once it's tripped, it cannot be reset. That said, you may be able to mitigate it by rooting again with Magisk and using the "Fake Knox" plugin. Unfortunately, the Knox counter is permanent on Samsung devices. – acejavelin Jun 21 '18 at 11:47
  • I see! Thanks for the information. At the end it was only for samsung pass, I can leave without LoL Fortunately seems that all the rest is working fine with the finger print recognition so I'll keep this way and that's it. – Rosario S Jun 22 '18 at 15:08
