  • Ive already done soft reboots - dont really want to a hard reset as havent been given a chance to save data/photos etc. – Jo Cox Jul 16 '18 at 13:35
  • Have you by any chance rooted the device, and maybe removed the keyboard app? If not, any ideas on what might have led to this situation? Btw: if the device supports OTG, you could try connecting a keyboard via USB to enter your pin. – Izzy Jul 16 '18 at 13:55
  • Thanks Izzy. I havent rooted the device at all. The phone was recently encrypted as had to before could access work emails so I dont know if something has gone wrong there. Its a HTC10 which apparently does support OTG. Im not brilliant at gadgets and sorry if sound ignorant, but can you just plus the OTG in and use is straightaway as a keyboard? – Jo Cox Jul 17 '18 at 9:27
  • I've never used it, but AFAIK you just plug in the keyboard and it should be detected – though you probably need an OTG adapter (USB to microUSB). Just give it a try; if it doesn't work out-of-the-box or you have further questions towards OTG, please check with the corresponding posts on our site. – Izzy Jul 17 '18 at 9:32
