I have a Motorola Moto G4 Play phone. I flashed Resurrection Remix 6.1 official build (based on Oreo) and TWRP 3.2.1. Then, I installed Magisk and allowed the root for apps (inc. terminal emulator) and adb. To enable the disk encryption, I did the following in the command line:

vdc cryptfs enablecrypto inplace password hexOfMyPassword

However, after the code execution, the device reboots into 'Encrypting...' screen and is stuck there for hours even though it shows 100% complete. I tried this twice, and in the first trial I shut down the phone (while it was still saying 'encrypting...') after 5-6 hours and when I turned it on again, it asked me for the password. Just to be on the safe side, I wiped everything and tried for the second time, but no luck. What am I doing wrong? Note that there is no data in the storage except the ROM itself and 2-3 apps.

Have you tried asking at the XDA forum for you device or ROM? – SiXandSeven8ths Jul 17 '18 at 20:15
