being a new user, I would really appreciate your responses. I was using HTC Desire 830 previously and created my SMS backup using HTC's default SMS Restore/Backup function. Now since I'm converted to Samsung Galaxy A6 plus, I would like to restore my messages using that backup file but I don't know the file extension and how to open/restore messages on my Samsung?

  • Afraid that Huawei backup is only compatible with the Huawei software, and thus only with Huawei devices. If you still have the old device, I'd suggest you use an independent tool to backup your SMS and restore them to the new device. You can find some candidates in my list here. – Izzy Aug 6 '18 at 6:12
  • I still have the old device and I tried transferring messages to the new device using the Samsung Smart Transfer app but it didn't work as I was expected as it transferred only half of the messages. – Waleed Khan Aug 6 '18 at 6:25
  • That might be the same thing the other way around. Try one of the apps from above linked list if you want to transfer them all. When you succeeded, it would be great if you could answer your own question to help others in a similar situation. Fingers crossed! – Izzy Aug 6 '18 at 10:18
