I have an Android6_x86 in a virtual machine, which is started and controlled by my PC software. That is, my software starts the VM, connects via ADB over TCP/IP to android, and starts an app.

The connection via ADB can be established just seconds after starting, long before androids boot sequence is complete, and the user interface is shown.

Currently, I just wait some time and then try to start my app again and again, until it is running. But it would be nicer to wait until the system is ready.

Is there a way to determine via ADB if the boot sequence is complete and the user interface is shown?

  • Try the command getprop dev.bootcomplete on and adb shell. – Robert Aug 20 '18 at 17:00
