I like to listen to audiobooks while I'm driving and so I'll use Audible sometimes in conjunction with Google maps (or even Waze) and the audio glitches horribly. This used to happen to me on my old Oneplus 3, I attributed it to the fact that it's an underdog phone. Then I bought the Galaxy S8 (big mistake, awful phone) last year to replace it after it took a spill down a river. I noticed the same thing on this phone.

Basically what'll happen is I'll be listening to my audiobook and maps will pause it and interrupt (as it should). But rather than hearing the directions (mind you my volume settings for everything are maxed out), I hear nothing. After a good 30 seconds or so if I'm lucky it'll resume playback. More often than not, I need to click the play button again in the app to get it going again. Other times it'll get part of the message out, but not all of it. For instance, if I'm turning right on Main Street, I would expect it to say "Turn right on Main Street. More often than not, I'll just "... Main Street" followed by a long pause and again, assuming I get lucky, playback will continue.

I'm running the stock firmware (Oreo), stock apps. This has happened from day one with both phones. The car itself is a 2015 Audi A3 with the technology package (MMI, Nav, Bluetooth, Google Maps, MMI touch knob, Bang and Olufsen speakers, etc). I've also noticed similar issues with my 2001 Audi A4, which obviously wasn't Bluetooth ready, but I installed an aftermarket Motorola T605 Bluetooth kit. So I don't think it's the car. Two completely different Bluetooth systems of totally different eras and the same issue persists on two different phones with two different versions of Android.

Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks
