I've seen a few posts related to my query but none of the answers worked. I'll describe my issue in detail because honestly, I have no idea what to do anymore.

I have had the same problem before but it suddenly stopped and now it has returned. The wifi suddenly turns itself off and whenever I attempt to switch it back on, it just turns off again. I have restarted many times but it never works.

I am using a Samsung galaxy s7 edge and the latest Android version. I hope someone can help, thank you.

  • Seems to be firmware bug. I had the same when I had tensions with non-native firmware which wasn't intended for my model. Try to do factory reset and if no luck, make a full reflash. – Suncatcher Oct 4 '18 at 13:47

In the WiFi settings, in the advanced tab there's an option that let's you decide when do you want the wifi to be turned on; make sure always is selected.

If that's not the case then you should better check your installed apps. An app (provided the right permission is given) can toggle the wifi switch.

I had this problem with galaxy 6 phone. WI FI turning on and off frequently. Go into settings. Scroll down to back up and reset. Scroll down til you see back up and reset wifi, bluetooth and data reset. Then hit the reset button. You will not lose anything. I still have all my pics and nothing changed except WIFI. IT IS FINALLY OFF!

I had the same problem but I wouldn't show up with any WiFi at all just say searching then turn off. What I did was hold the power button until it turned off and keep holding it until it turned on without letting go (you can let go when it turns on) did this a few times turned it off for a while came back and it was fixed this might not work I am on Android version 5.1 sorry if it doesn't work

  • Welcome on the Android SE! Sorry, but I can't really understand your answer. Could you please give somehow more details, in round sentences? – user259412 Mar 25 at 17:56
