Searching for the cause of decreased screen-on time after updating the firmware on my phone (the standby time is generally excellent), I realised it was not encrypted before, and as I had to change the filesystem on the data partition for another reason, I figured I might as well decrypt it to see whether this had an effect.

The fingerprint sensor settings are then disabled. I can reenable them by encrypting the /data partition again.

But why is this and is there a way around it?

Phone is Lenovo P2 with Android 8.1 (Lineage OS). Thank you.
