I've seen a few posts here and there, but nothing concrete. My North American SIM card doesn't have true mobile data as of right now. I don't have a plan or a contract, but a pay-per-minute and pay-per-text system. Data is expensive like this, although VoLTE doesn't seem ti cost any more than a regular call. I don't need fast speeds, just enough to push an email or instant message through. Would a dial-up service be viable, considering that the flat tones of a dial-up signal compress and reconstitute well, and that VoLTE offers much better call quality? If so, is there an app or even a command line program that allows this, for instance using Android's VPN system? I'll take solutions that need root, ADB, or that need messing around on Termux or Android's normal Linux shell.
