Mobile- Yu yunique (lollipop) Problem- My mobiles inbuilt android browser named as 'BROWSER' launches by default when I click on Google-drive/Telegram/Youtube links while browsing in google-chrome browser. It should open in respective apps, or at least in same browser(chrome, in which I am browsing).

Even after clearing Launch by default from Settings>Apps of BROWSER nothing happens. I click to some external link in Chrome and BROWSER opens again. Again I clear default setting, I repeat this process again and again, but of no use. BROWSER can't be uninstalled or disabled in my Android mobile. I thought may be this problem is with chrome, I uninstalled all updates of Chrome, but of no use. Someone please help me.

  • You can disable the app. – harshit54 Feb 2 at 10:57
  • You can remove the app for your user account. See how to disable system apps without root? – Firelord Feb 2 at 11:02
  • @Firelord Are you talking about remove or disable? Isn't root access essential to remove a system app, even if you use adb? – harshit54 Feb 2 at 11:10
  • @harshit54 the method I have mentioned (pm uninstall) in the linked answer removes the system app for a particular user account. It doesn't remove it from system partition, but doesn't keep it registered as installed for that user account, so it is same as uninstalled until you factory reset. – Firelord Feb 2 at 11:44
  • @Firelord Didn't knew that was possible. Thanks for the answer. – harshit54 Feb 2 at 11:46
