I'm using an old Samsung Note 3. I run Google maps, drag from the left, and select the cloud icon to access offline maps. I select an area to download, and it insists on updating all my offline maps, even though they were downloaded only hours ago. Same if I try to update just one offline map; it queues them all for update. I've had this problem for years. Any suggestions?

  • May sound stupid, but: Disable Google Maps and use an alternative, like OsmAnd. OsmAnd never did that for me – it only installs/updates what I tell it to. (it's the only advice I can give in this context: my devices run without Google Apps, so no GMaps, Playstore etc) – Izzy May 20 at 6:05
