I have a Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) phone (model SM-A530F), running android 9. I also have a Linux PC. I want to root my phone, but any guide I have found mentions that I have to use some special tool that requires Windows. Is there any way to root this phone from Linux? I have already enabled USB debugging and OEM unlock on my phone.

  • Depends on your guide... Many use Heimdall which is available for Linux, others use ODIN, which isn't directly supported, but a quick Google search will find alternatives such as JOdin3 (Java based Odin3). – acejavelin Jul 14 at 17:05
