With the option in Google Maps to download maps for offline use, the area selection lets you zoom in and out, but the aspect ratio of the area seems to be dictated by the map display, and therefore by the screen dimensions. This might be a poor fit to the shape of the region of interest. Is there any way to select an area with a custom aspect ratio?

(I'm aware that a small amount of extra flexibility can be obtained by rotating the phone, but I've found that it is not usually enough to be useful.)
